At the heart of our temple community lies a quiet yet powerful place: the Simhachalam Goshala. It is currently home to eight cows and bulls – each with its own unique personality and story. We will introduce them in detail in a future post. Today, we’d like to give you a first look at what’s been happening in and around our pasture.

Summer Vibes & Fresh Hay

The sun is shining in full force these days – and our cows feel it too. During the warmer hours, they prefer to rest in their covered shelter, where it’s cool, quiet, and shaded.

Fresh hay has just been harvested from our own fields. It is now being stored and partly fed directly to the animals. The cows are currently enjoying one of the summer pastures, where they graze peacefully on lush green grass.

New Life in the Barn – Swallow Chicks

Life is not only blossoming in the meadows: In the barn, tiny baby swallows have quietly hatched. Delicate, still, and almost unnoticed – a gentle reminder of how much life can unfold in a place where protection and peace prevail.

Hoof Care with Heart

This week also brought an important appointment: the cows’ regular hoof care. This routine is essential for maintaining their health and well-being. With great care and calm attention, each animal’s hooves were inspected and treated. The photos say it all – showing how much respect and expertise go into caring for each of our animals.

Ahimsa Milk for Narasimhadeva

One especially joyful development is that we are currently producing around 30 liters of ahimsa milk per day from three of our cows – completely non-violently, with deep gratitude, under the loving supervision of Manju Krishna Mataji.

This milk goes straight into the Maha sweets for Sri Narasimhadeva, lovingly prepared each day. During the week, we no longer need to purchase any outside milk. Only on weekends, when many guests visit and larger quantities of prasadam are prepared, do we purchase a small amount of organic milk from a neighboring farm.

We are deeply thankful for this development – and it shows what’s possible when humans, animals, and service to the Lord come together in harmony.

A Place for Guests & Friends

Our Goshala is not only a place for cows – it is also a place for people who want to meet them. On weekends, there is the opportunity to help feed the cows. We provide a specific type of hay, which guests are welcome to offer. We kindly ask: Please do not bring your own food, but only use what is provided by us.

Cow Protection Needs Friends

Caring for and protecting cows is a service full of love – but also full of responsibility. Feed, veterinary care, shelter, and daily maintenance all require time, energy, and financial support. If you feel inspired to help, we welcome your support.

The contact person for the Goshala is Manju Krishna Mataji.
She is happy to answer questions, provide information, and accept donations.

Thank you for helping us keep this sacred place alive.
