Anyone walking through our garden in Simhachalam these days can feel it immediately: something is happening here.
Countless varieties of vegetables are growing in the beds – from Swiss chard, zucchini, cabbage, and pumpkins to special varieties grown specifically for the temple kitchen.
All the berries are ripe – and are either freshly offered to Narasimhadeva (every morning He receives a fruit salad) or processed directly into syrup.
Our potato field is in full bloom and gives us hope: after last year’s dry summer, which brought major losses to local farmers as well, this year’s harvest looks promising.
Last week, several Workaway volunteers joined us. Thanks to their support – and under the loving guidance of Sundar Gopal Prabhu – the garden is now tidy again, weed-free, and new cultivation areas have been prepared together with Govinda-Dev Prabhu.
Our climate tree initiative is also moving forward: several new trees were planted in recent days – a contribution to the environment and the local microclimate.
Everything that grows here is organic – and comes exclusively from Demeter-certified seeds.
No artificial fertilizers, no machines. Just soil, sun, water – and many, many hands.
A garden means work. But it also gives back so much: fresh ingredients for our kitchen, daily offerings to Sri Sri Prahlad Lakshmi Narasimhadeva, and nourishment for our whole community.
Would you like to get involved?
The garden is a beautiful space for hands-on devotional service – whether for a day or longer. Every helping hand counts!
